This year, our 17th Annual Convention will be held in Chicago, Illinois, from Thursday, October 20, 2005, through Sunday, October 23, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago and hosted by the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area. The centralized location of the Convention in Chicago and the outstanding Convention program will draw APAs from all parts of the country. This year, we will again feature prominent speakers from government and private sectors of the law.
Our rapidly growing membership and great success with previous conventions make us confident of easily drawing 700 or more attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students from across the nation, and from all practice areas and backgrounds. The Convention culminates in the gala banquet dinner, where we expect approximately 1000 attendees. Past Convention keynote speakers for the gala banquet dinner have included then-Vice President Al Gore, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, and then-Attorney General Janet Reno. This year, we will again feature prominent speakers from government and private sectors of the law.
As always, this year’s Convention will help members develop essential skills and will provide attendees with important, updated information affecting many practice areas. NAPABA is coordinating its Convention with the National Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (NAPALSA). By having a joint Convention, NAPABA assists the next generation of Asian Pacific American lawyers develop the skills and contacts necessary to succeed and thrive.
See you in Chicago!
