AABA sponsored its bi-annual Law Student Career Forum at the Chicago Kent Law School in October 2008. The program brought together over a hundred law students and practicing attorneys from the Chicagoland area. Students were given the oppotunity to attend various panels and get one on one advice from a wide variety of professionals, including private practioners from judges, large, midsize, and small law firms attorneys, in-house counsel, government attorneys, criminal defense lawyers, public interest attorneys, and other legal professionals.
AABA continued its State's Attorney Internship program in 2009. Each year, AABA reviews and selects two asian law students for paid summer internships with Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alverez's Office. The program serves to to increase diversity and the exposure of asian legal professionals to the criminal justice system.
