The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (www.napaba.org) is the United States' only national association of Asian Pacific American attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students, providing a national network for its members and affiliates. Formed in 1988 by representatives of 23 APA bar associations from around the country, NAPABA advocates for the legal needs and interests of the APA community. NAPABA represents over 40,000 attorneys in 45 local APA bar associations, whose practice settings range from solo practices to large firms, corporations, legal services organizations, non-profit organizations, law schools and governmental agencies. Through its network of committees, NAPABA is in the forefront of national and local activities in the areas of civil rights reform, combating anti-immigrant backlash and hate crimes, increasing the diversity of the Federal and State judiciaries, and professional development.

NAPABA monitors legislative developments and judicial appointments, promotes APA political leadership, advocates for equal opportunity in education and in the workplace, works to eliminate violence against Asian Pacific Americans, and builds coalitions on these issues and others within the legal profession and the community at large. We also publish a quarterly newsletter, The NAPABA Lawyer for our members.
